Entertainment Tonight co-host Nancy O’Dell will be stepping down from her perch after nearly a decade, the veteran showbiz reporter announced at the end of Friday’s broadcast.
O’Dell first joined the ET team in January 2011 after ending her 13 year residency as co-anchor on Access Hollywood.
She landed the role following legendary presenter Mary Hart’s retirement and has co-hosted the show with Kevin Frazier since 2014.
But tonight’s broadcast would prove to be her very last for the syndicated news magazine, however, she insisted she'll 'be back' on our screens sometime soon.

In an on-air statement, O’Dell expressed excitement at the ‘new chapter’ awaiting her, revealing she's taking a step back from on-camera work to spend more quality time with her 12-year-old daughter.
She also hinted at a new career opportunity, still within the realms of entertainment news.

‘As I take on that list of things still to come, it means leaving this position, but it does not mean I am leaving the genre,’ O'Dell said at the closing of the show.
‘I'll be back, and it won't be long. I'm going to enjoy some time off with the most wonderful gal in my life, my daughter, because they grow up way too fast. She is always my priority and then I'll focus on my new project.’
O’Dell then thanked her long-serving manager and close friend, John Ferriter, who died aged 59 earlier this week.
‘Shortly before his passing, he told me life is too short, do what makes you happy, you’re creating your own best life. I think I’ve heard Oprah say that too… two smart people… but I’m proud to have this show as part of my story,’ Odell said, before dedicating the broadcast to Ferriter.
‘This last sign off is for you, John, and for all the viewers whom I have an unbreakable bond with from our daily chance to talk all things entertainment. That bond will never change,’ she said.
‘So, it’s not goodbye, but rather just turning the page to the next chapter.’

In a statement, ET executive producer Erin Johnson praised O’Dell for her unrivaled ‘dedication’ to the series over the past eight years.
‘For almost nine years, Nancy has welcomed viewers to ET every night with her signature southern charm. From anchoring both royal weddings, gracing every major award show red carpet and interviewing the likes of Garth Brooks, JLo and Oprah, her expertise behind the microphone is undeniable,’ Johnson said.
‘We can’t thank Nancy enough for her dedication to keeping ET the gold standard in entertainment news and we have no doubt she will continue to succeed in all future endeavors.’
It remains unclear who will be replacing O’Dell on the show. Her departure comes as one of many changes among high-profile figures in the entertainment news world.
Long-running Extra host Mario Lopez announced that he’s moving to Access Hollywood. In turn the show parted ways with co-anchor Natalie Morales as well as bringing in Maureen Fitzpatrick as senior executive producer.
Extra, which is produced by Warner Brothers, has also terminated the contract of AJ Conway after 14 years, following a number of sexual assault allegations.
