Dramatic footage shows the moment lightning struck a sailboat as thunderstorms rolled through Massachusetts on Saturday.
The video was recorded by Harry Minucci at the Columbia Yacht Club in South Boston, where he said he saw his friend's 40-foot vessel get hit by a huge bolt of lightning.
The boat can be seen going up in flames and sparks fly off its mast after the strike causes a small explosion.
The owner was not on the boat and no one was injured, according to CNN.
At the start of the video, the sailboat can be seen docked in the Columbia Yacht Club's marina
The footage then shows a huge bolt of lightning illuminate the sky and strike the unfortunate vessel
The unfortunate vessel was moored in the club's marina.
Minucci said there was a lot of electrical damage on the boat, WCVB reported.
The stunned witness told Storyful he took out his camera after seeing lightning strikes in the distance, and could not believe he captured this moment on camera.
Severe weather slammed the east coast on Saturday afternoon with storms, heavy rain, a few tornadoes and plenty of lightning.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a warning for heavy rainfall and flooding in the Boston Area.
The storms ended by around 9:45 p.m., by which time they had produced around 1.5 inches of rain, according to the weather service.
The shocking video was retweeted by the NWS, which said it was a 'great example of why we say "When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!"'
The service's website advises people to 'stay inside a sturdy building or shelter that can protect you from deadly lightning' during severe thunderstorms.
