A college student's bra saved her from being shot after the bullet hit the underwire at a Brooklyn block party that killed a 38-year-old Bloods gang member and injured 11 others.

Deniesa Murdaugh, 21, was spared of potentially life-threatening injuries in the wild shootout thanks to her bra, mother Odessa Watson told the New York Post.

She explained that when Emergency Medical Services unhooked her bra to tend to her wound, the bullet was sitting on her bra strap and 'just fell out.'

Despite this, there were still bullet fragments left in her skin leaving a 'graze,' Watson told the Post.

'It was a regular bra,' she added. 'The threading of it, because we’re thick girls, is thicker. And it got caught in the back part of the bra.'

Queensboro College student Murdaugh was among the large crowds of locals at 'Old Timers Week' - an annual community block party that was celebrating its 56th year.

As the event started to wrap up, with the final R&B band of the night performing 'Family Reunion' by The O'Jays at around 11pm, a hail of bullets filled the area, The New York Times reported.

Bloods gang member Jason Pagan, 38, is believed to have been the target, according to the Post. He died of his wounds and an additional 11 people, including Murdaugh, were injured in the attack.

Two of the other victims were said to be recovering, retiree Anthony Davis will wait up to two weeks before the bullet is located and hopefully removed from his body, according to the Post. Another, Dominique Joseph, 25, is recovering at her home in Red Hook.
