Donald Trump only agreed to pay Marla Maples $1million if they separated within five years and threatened to stop child support payments if their daughter Tiffany ever joined the military or Peace Corps, the leaked prenuptial agreement has revealed.
Details of the very stringent document have emerged from a new expose by Vanity Fair on Tuesday.
It is yet another piece in the puzzle that has been Trump's financial history in the 1990s, when he was drowning in debt but claiming to be a billionaire.
Trump and Maples' relationship was the ultimate tabloid fodder in those years. There was infidelity, a beauty queen, and four children - including a newborn - involved.

But behind the scenes, Trump's businesses were reportedly crumbling.
A New York Times report revealed that, from 1985 to 1994, Trump lost $1.17billion - more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer.
In fact, Trump lost so much money that he didn't have to pay income taxes for eight of the 10 years, according to the Times.
In just 1985, Trump reported losses of $46.1million from his casinos, hotels, and retail spaces in apartment buildings. They continued to lose money every year, even as Trump published his now famous memoir and business-advice book The Art of the Deal.
The Times also found that Trump's core businesses lost more than $250million in 1990 and 1991, a figure more than double that of the nearest taxpayers in the IRS' sampling.

Despite all this, Trump was still claiming during prenup negotiations that he was worth $1.17billion. Maples, by comparison, had $100,000.
But the number was more than just Trump's trademark bravado. If Trump downplayed his assets, Maples could later claim he hid money from her - which could have nullified the prenup.
Trump was also still recovering from the damage of his divorce with Ivana in 1992. Two years prior, she had sued Trump for $2.5billion to nullify a revised prenup from 1977.
Ivana eventually got $14million, the couple's Greenwich estate, and $650,000 in yearly child support payments for their children Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr, and Eric.
By 1993, Maples had given birth to Tiffany and Trump, it seemed, was finally ready to pop the question to his beauty queen mistress - who one source said always traveled with a wedding dress in case Trump finally decided he wanted to get married.

At the same time, he had been struggling to take his casinos public as he remained a fixture in the tabloids. Trump reportedly hoped a big wedding would restore Wall Street's faith in him.
Yet Trump still needed Maples to sign the agreement, and she wanted $25million. Trump refused to negotiate, giving her only $1million if they separated within five years and another $1million to purchase a house.

It wasn't until 24 hours before their wedding day, with 1,000 guests at the Plaza Hotel, that Maples finally signed the prenup
'The way it was drawn up is ironclad and shows how wary he was,' divorce lawyer Raoul Felder, who reviewed the prenup, told Vanity Fair. 'He was leaving nothing to chance.'
Maples told the magazine at the time of their relationship that the prenup was the 'big battle all along'.
It wasn't until 24 hours before their wedding day, with 1,000 guests at the Plaza Hotel, that Maples finally signed the agreement.
'Marla was under duress,' recalled a source. 'Donald's position was: without the prenup he wasn't going to get married.'

Maples later told journalists that the couple planned to revise the prenup after five years. They only made it to four, caught up in Maples' own tabloid scandal after she was caught with a Trump bodyguard in Palm Beach at 4am.
The pair split the following year and Maples put her wild time in Trump's inner circle behind her, raising Tiffany in California.
She reportedly wanted to write a book about her relationship with Trump after he announced his presidential campaign, only for him and Ivanka to convince her to stay quiet.
Some deals, it appears, Trump still knows how to make.
