Richmond star Dustin Martin has been offered a two-match suspension and a $1,500 fine for striking charges, while he may face further sanction for gestures he made during the Tigers' 49-point loss to GWS on Saturday.

Martin can accept the two-week ban with an early plea after being cited by the AFL match review panel for an off-the-ball strike on Adam Kennedy at the Sydney Showground.

The match review panel graded the incident — in which Martin elbowed Kennedy — as intentional conduct with medium and high impact to the head.

The $1,500 fine for Martin was related to a striking incident involving the Giants' Matt de Boer.

The Tigers are likely to have until Tuesday afternoon to decide whether to challenge the charges at the tribunal or enter early guilty pleas.

The AFL could still ask Martin to explain why he raised his middle finger at an opponent and also imitated snorting drugs.

The speculation is that the drugs sledge was directed at the Giants' Shane Mumford, who was suspended for the opening two matches of season after a video emerged of him snorting white powder.

Should Martin accept the two-week suspension he will miss Saturday's away match against Port Adelaide and the following weekend's fixture against Sydney at Docklands.

He will also be ineligible for the Brownlow Medal, which he won in the Tigers' 2017 premiership season.

A suspension would add to Richmond's early-season woes, with Alex Rance out for the season after undergoing a knee reconstruction and Jack Riewoldt sidelined with a wrist injury.

Tigers captain Trent Cotchin is set to be ruled out of the match against the Power because of a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide pair Zak Butters and Scott Lycett can accept $2,000 fines for incidents from the Power's 17-point loss to Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.

Fremantle Jesse Hogan faces the same sanction for an engaging in rough conduct charge during the Dockers' five-point over St Kilda in Perth on Sunday.
