The late Karl Lagerfeld had a love of antiques, and the luxury apartment he designed within Paris' famed Hôtel de Crillon certainly reflects his opulently classic taste.

The three-bedroom mega suite, which costs more than £30,967 (€36,000) a night, features a spread of fancy features including glistening glass chandeliers, delicate swathes of silk and bathrooms clad from floor-to-ceiling in marble.

Adding more of a personal touch, the Chanel fashion mogul dedicated one of the bedrooms to his beloved cat Choupette, with a large portrait of the feline hanging on the wall.

The 124-room venue, which was built in 1758, opened in 1909 and over the years it has been frequented by dozens of celebrities including everyone from Sir Winston Churchill to Madonna and Bill Clinton.

It is currently owned by a Saudi prince and managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Along with Lagerfeld's apartment, other sought-after spaces in the building include the top floor suite named after composer Leonard Bernstein, who stayed there regularly. 

On the amenity front, the hotel boasts three restaurants, with one helmed by a Michelin-starred chef, and a swanky bar stocked with more than 100 varieties of champagne.

Other draws include a state-of-the-art spa, hair salon and swimming pool.
