CBS This Morning co-anchor Norah O'Donnell is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery to remove her appendix.
On Friday, O'Donnell founded herself unexpectedly at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
O'Donnell, 45, posted the news throughInstagram stories, saying, 'Not what we planned for spring break,' showing a snap of herself in a hospital gown.
A hospital spokesperson told The Post and Courier that she'd undergone an emergency appendectomy.

O'Donnell posted another story that showed her ready for an emergency appendectomy
O'Donnell's husband, restaurateur Geoff Tracy, took to Twitter to salute his wife
O'Donnell posted other Instagram stories, including another showing the mother of three in a hospital gown, rigged up for surgery with the caption, 'Operation to remove appendix before it ruptured.'
She then documented her trip towards the operating theater with the words 'Heading to surgery.'
O'Donnell's husband, restaurateur Geoff Tracy, took to Twitter to salute his wife who he called 'stronger than steel.'
O'Donnell also thanked the whole medical team at the hospital, saying that she was grateful for their care.

O'Donnell has spoken openly and candidly about other health scares in the past.
She was diagnosed with skin cancer around Thanksgiving in 2016.
She went on to be successfully treated and says her melanoma diagnosis has made her extra vigilant about spending any time in the sun.
