TORONTO -- Police say they're looking for a 16-year-old boy in a shooting that left two emerging artists in the Toronto rap scene dead.
Jahvante Smart, 21, known as Smoke Dawg and Ernest (Kosi) Modekwe, 28, known as Koba Prime, were gunned down in Toronto's Entertainment District on June 30. Police say a woman shot in the same incident is expected to recover.
Investigators say the Toronto teen is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, and they're asking anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact police.
On Wednesday, police issued a warrant for 22-year-old Abdulkadir Handule of Toronto on similar charges.
Smart released his first single in 2015 and was on Drake's Boy Meets World tour. Drake posted on Instagram a photo of he and Smart performing together with the caption, "Rest up Smoke."
Family and friends said Modekwe was the brand manager for a hip-hop collective called Prime.
