Trump May Do Jail Time For His Attacks On NFL Players

Trump’s continuous un-American rants about the NFL and its players who kneel in protests while the National Anthem is played are definitely offensive, but more importantly, they are probably illegal.
His remarks could disqualify him from public office and he could face fines and up to 15 years in prison.
1. Is the President of the United States covered by this statute?
Clearly he is, and is specifically mentioned in (b)(3) as a “covered person.”
2. Does he have the intent to influence employment decisions or the employment practices of a private entity?
He absolutely does.
At an Alabama rally, he said;
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out, he’s fired. He’s fired.'”
This is completely illegal, no question. Besides what he said in the speech, his tweets incriminate him.
3. Has he taken official action, influenced, offered, or threatened?
We weren’t sure at first, but uncertainty vanished on Tuesday when he tweeted an outright threat that he will use his power to put into operation a plan to change the tax law for the deliberate purpose of imposing taxes on the NFL unless they stop hiring players who use their First Amendment right to kneel (peaceful protest).
CONCLUSION
The decision on Trump’s guilt in this case would depend on whether or not Trump is acting out of partisan political affiliation.
NOTE: Would love to see this one go to court. Imagine the mountain of evidence against Trump since this is one of the issues he's ranted on and on about.
Also: Remember that Colin Kaepernick and the other NFL players who have taken a knee were protesting the killing of African American men, women and children at the hands of the police.
Has nothing to do with disrespecting the flag or the anthem but does have everything to do with respecting the lives of living, breathing human beings.
