A snake interrupted American's pastime when it slithered on the field of a minor league baseball game Friday.  

Video shows the reptile making its way through the outfield forcing The San Antonio  Missions to take a short break in the eighth inning. 

The snake sent at least five men armed with rakes and buckets scrambling to secure the animal.

The San Antonio Missions game halted as five men tried to wrangle the snake

After a four-minute chase, the men managed to get the snake into a bucket

The four-minute footage shows men, clearly untrained snake charmers, collectively chasing the snake.

After a few swings are unsuccessful, one of the men is finally able to hold the animal down with a gardening tool.

Other men sweep in with buckets and cover it before it can escape.

Unfortunately, Facebook users claim the reptile did not survive its field-crashing antics. 

It was captured using rakes and buckets - but online users say it did not survive
