Trump Says He's Thinking About Pulling ICE From California
NOTE: Before you read this, let me reassure you that this isn't Fake News, a made up story by Democrats to embarrass Trump, a Russian plot nor a Deep State Obama Conspiracy. It's just - how to say this? - news!

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump declared on Thursday he was considering withdrawing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from California as punishment for what he claimed was a "lousy management job" in patrolling illegal immigration.
"You know what, I'm thinking about doing it," Trump said at a roundtable with state and local officials to address ideas to stop gun violence in the wake of the Parkland school massacre. His comments came after he decried the state of law enforcement in the Golden State.
"We're getting no help from the state of California. Frankly, if I pulled our people from California, you would have a crime nest like you've never seen in California. All I'd have to do is say 'ICE, Border Patrol, leave California alone,'" he said during a listening session at the White House.
"You would see crime like nobody has ever seen crime in this country. And yet we get no help from the state of California. They are doing a lousy management job," he went on to say. "They have the highest taxes in the nation. And they don't know what's happening out there. Frankly it's a disgrace."
It was not clear how serious Trump was about the proposal. His administration has stepped up enforcement of immigration laws in California as an effort to pressure sanctuary cities, which is a term for local jurisdictions who have some policy of non-cooperation or coordination with federal immigration authorities.
California is also a key border for the United States, making it unlike Border Patrol or Customs and Border Protection could pull out of the state.
The San Ysidro border crossing is the busiest land port of entry in the entire Western Hemisphere, let alone the United States, and the California border is a major focus of preventing drug smuggling into the US.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan said on Fox News earlier this year that California's policies would only increase ICE's presence.
"There's no sanctuary from federal law enforcement. As a matter of fact, we're in the process now, I'm going to significantly increase our enforcement presence in California. We're already doing it," he said.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump's statement.
NOTE: "Frankly, if I pulled our people from California, you would have a crime nest like you've never seen in California."
I know this is getting tiresome, but what the hell - just one more example of how ignorant (?), incompetent (?), dumb (?), stupid (?) - take your pick, they all work, that Trump really is. In the first place, although he and his ignorant supporters believe in the deepest recesses of their black little hearts that it's illegal immigrants who are the cause of all the crime in America, it just isn't true. Trump, of course, is referring to all the serious crime like rape and murder that illegals commit. We're not talking here about all the white collar crimes that rip off Medicare to the tune of several billion dollars a year. No. Not this, which with just a tad of insight and common sense might be a fruitful arena for the Justice Department to focus its activities on rather than trying to keep transgender folks from joining the military.
In fact, illegal aliens actually commit fewer crimes overall and fewer serious crimes, rape and murder, for example, than other folks. The incarceration rates are the bottom line. And, the Cato Institute has found that both illegal immigrants and legal immigrants have incarceration rates far below those of native-born Americans—at 0.85 percent, 0.47 percent, and 1.53 percent, respectively. But, of course, facts, data and statistics are not something that Trump and his supporters have even the vaguest knowledge about. But it happens to be true: illegal aliens commit far fewer crimes than White folks. Including, I would suspect, all the White folks who think their high paying, rich in benefits jobs have been stolen by the illegals overrunning America. Another myth belied by facts.
I know that I've reiterated the following several times here, but it's worth repeating.
Overstaying a visa is a Federal offense. A felony.
So when you find some right wing news outlet (Fox) or blogger touting the "fact" that illegals commit far more crime than the rest of us, in a way they are right. But here's how it works. Let's say a visitor to the U.S., one Orlando Pedro Gonsalves, manages to snag a 30 day tourist visa from the U.S, consulate in San Salvador. Things are dicey in El Salvador, you know, gangs, murderers and rapists are what are waiting for him upon his return home, so he makes a decision to simply stay in Miami after his 30 day visitors visa expires. BNAG! He's a criminal. He's committed a felony. Not for robbing a bank or raping someone, but by overstaying his allotted time in the U.S. It's really this simple. Thus every single illegal alien is a criminal. A felon.
But once again, we have a case of the President of the United States of America conducting policy based on - who the fuck knows? It certainly isn't based upon factual data. So maybe it's White House Aide Stephen Miller or Public Relations Expert, Sarah Huckabee Sanders who are advising the President on immigration matters. But, hey, California - the state that sports the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world, has the U.S.'s largest population of any state at 40 million and is a solid Democratic Blue State - is a bullseye for Trump's target practice. Not, of course that this has anything to do with Trump's policy. But want to know what's going to happen if and when Trump pulls ICE and Border Agents out of California?
Absolutely Nothing!
Trump's flip on DACA? Well, Trump's policy today isn't necessarily going to be his policy tomorrow. Apparently in this case, he got a whole lot of pushback from his supporters who were decrying that all those illegals were stealing all those jobs right out from under them. You know, like picking lettuce and tomatoes under a blazing California desert sun for 10 hours a day. Those jobs.
