They say that if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing properly - but the people whose repair efforts are captured here apparently don't share the same view.
Some are quite happy to do a half-hearted job and just deal with the consequences later - such as being pulled over by the police for using red plastic cups as replacement bulbs when your car headlight blows.
Astonishingly some of the botched jobs - shared by social media users around the world - appear to be the work of so-called professionals, such as that captured by a disappointed motorist who arrived at a garage to find his car only half painted.
Elsewhere a diner was shocked to visit a restaurant toilet to find a bucket hastily shoved beneath a leaking urinal.
This unusual looking car had been covered with plastic and had a tap fixture put on the bonnet
