DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, WILL FIRE ROBERT MUELLER

AND THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE IS PAVING THE WAY

Happened to catch the House Judiciary Committee's questioning of Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein, and there was no question that the majority Republicans are demanding a second Special Counsel to investigate the first Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.  It was quite a performance.  They dragged out Hillary's e-mails (Again!), Susan Rice's unmasking of classified information (Again!), Mueller expanding the Russia investigation out of bounds (Again!) and the latest Bob Mueller scandal - private e-mails between Mueller's staff that are critical of Trump - that PROVE the Special Counsel's investigation is biased and prejudiced against Trump.  You can see how Republicans on the Judiciary Committee (the same one, by the way, who would be charged with bringing impeachment charges against Trump) are ramping up the drumbeat for Mueller's removal because the entire Russia investigation is mired in anti-Trump bias and rabid anti-Trump investigators.

Republicans calling for a second special prosecutor to investigate Mueller is laughable.  Our media, however, is reporting this campaign to discredit Mueller as "newsworthy" just like they reported on Trump's birther movement for years.  Unfortunately, they haven't yet come to grips with what is a false, fake, propaganda effort to protect Trump and his minions while paving the way - softening the ground - to allow Trump to fire Mueller with ease.  Frankly, I hope Trump does fire Mueller.  Such an action would inflame the country just as it did when Richard Nixon did the same.

Yet the Watergate scandal was about a "Third Rate Burglary" as described by Nixon and the financing of a "dirty tricks" campaign by the Committee to Re-Elect The President (CREEP, if you get the irony here) during Nixon's 1972 Presidential campaign.  Today, the "dirty tricks" against Democratic candidates conducted by Republicans back then, have become standard operating procedures in today's political world of crazy-ass politics.   Nixon and his henchmen really did use the IRS to go after Nixon's enemies, did pay the five Watergate Burglars to steal documents from the Democratic National Committee and Nixon did try to squelch the FBI's investigation into the burglary itself.  But it was the Saturday Night Massacre (the firing of Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibold Cox that turned America against Nixon who had won his second term by defeating George McGovern by 47 million to 29 million votes.

The parallels to the current de-legitimization of Mueller are uncanny.

Robert Mueller's investigation isn't about such mundane issues as campaign dirty tricks unless we're talking about Putin's henchmen's dirty tricks that got Trump elected President last year in one of the most serious intrusions into our election process in our history.  Nothing since the seceding of South Carolina from the United Sates in 1860 that commenced the Civil War has been quite so serious a threat to our democracy.  One would think that we would have a national commission to study the techniques, methods and level of success of Russia's meddling and what to do about it from happening in the future.  But so far, Trump remains silent.  Sure, we all "get" that he's not going to go after the "organization" or the leader that helped him win but given that we have an extremely important mid-term election coming up in a year, we remain wide open to more nefarious meddling in our elections.

The Special Counsel's investigation thus far has resulted in the formal indictment by Grand Juries of two of Trump's circle, Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, a plea agreement from  George Papadopoulos, an admission of guilt and pledge of cooperation from Michael Flynn and now Don Jr. is being questioned by House and Senate Intelligence Committees.

The noose is tightening.  And it doesn't take a cosmic leap of imagination to link the latest anti-Mueller propaganda effort to the fact that Mueller's investigations have had a remarkable degree of success.  So far.  Who knows what might follow?

It's also not a giant leap of creativity to conclude that the reason why Trump and his corrupt administration hasn't lifted a finger to find out the who, what, where, when and why of Russian interference nor what to do about it, is because Trump was also in on the deal.  From the very beginning I've maintained that our intelligence agencies and the FBI already had the goods on Trump and his cronies even before the election.   Although Trump, Manafort, Flynn and the rest of them dismiss the government as lazy, inept, bumbling and ineffective, they are all beginning to learn just how effective and just how thoroughly they monitor our communications.  And "our" includes them as well even if they aren't aware of it.

So the "Mueller's Investigation Is Illegitimate" drumbeat will continue apace and increase in intensity until such time that Trump can fire Mueller and weather the storm (so he believes.)  But for the rest of us,  Republicans sitting on the House and Senate committees charged with investigating Russian interference in the Presidential Election screaming about private e-mails critical of Trump, campaign contributions by Mueller's staff members to Democrats and the "incompetence and bias" by the FBI   - both individual agents and the organization as a whole - let's us know that Mueller is right on target.   Here's what Republican Representative Jim Jordan from Ohio had to say:

Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, however, was pretty solid about supporting Robert Mueller.

By the way, Hillary Clinton was also front and center by Republicans at yesterday's hearings.
Gowdy - of Clinton e-mail and Benghazi fame - wasn't the only Republican on the committee who raised questions about Clinton.  But we are a year past the 2016 Presidential Election and Donald Trump was, indeed, certified by the Electoral College as the 45th President of the United States of America even though he received 3 million fewer votes than Clinton.

One question that was not answered, is why it is that the Committee received the so-called anti-Trump e-mails just hours before they began their charade?  And how did Fox News know beforehand that this had occurred?

The anti-Mueller, he's biased against Trump, his staff is left wing ideologues, drumbeat to discredit Mueller will continue.  If it continues long enough and intensifies, it will give Trump a pass to fire Mueller.  The press has a choice to make: they can aid and abet this Republican enabling just as they did with Trump's Birther Movement or they can call this campaign out for what it is: Bullshit!

Let's see which choice they make.

Take Care and Have A Great Day!
