A college professor was fired from two jobs after a married father-of-four pursued her and the man's jealous wife sought serious revenge.

Kristin Barbato, an adjunct at Columbia University, who also previously held positions at New York Power Authority and Edison Energy, revealed James Giacin and his spouse, Mindy Berry, have 'made her life hell' for two years after Giacin came onto her back in 2015 and Berry found the text message thread.

It seems Giacin, an investment banker in Missouri, initially asked Barbato on a dinner date after she caught his eye at the New York Athletic Club he was at while on a work trip when told her he was divorced, according to the New York Post.

The deceiving dad later revealed the full truth over dinner - and said he was miserably married - when Barbato decided to end communication with him.

But the plan didn't work, as Giacin persisted even harder - and reportedly asked her, 'What if I wasn't married?  What if I was getting divorced? Would you date me then?', according to court documents stemming from an harassment case brought against him.

At some point, the outraged Berry discovered the flirtatious messages from her husband's cell phone and placed the blame on Barbato.

Over a two-year period, the wife allegedly threatened her with physical attacks and slandered her across social media in posts she shared with more than 70 of Barbato's colleagues and bosses.

Amid the scandal, the college professor said she was let go from 'two $100,000-a-year jobs with the New York Power Authority and Edison Energy,' the Post reported.

In the social media posts sent to business partners, Berry shared photos of the college professor alongside vicious captions that read things like: '#sleepswithmarriedmen, #homewreckers and #shesahomewrecker.'

However, Barbato claimed there was no sexual relationship between herself and Giacin.

In April 2016, Berry furiously emailed Barbato and called her an 'ugly, fat, big nose loser' who is getting 'exactly' what she deserves.

'And that is to be a lonely ugly b—h for the rest of your life,' Berry said in the alleged email message.

'I have a lot of friends at the NYAC and they tell me your every move … I guess Jim forgot to tell you that I have also been going there for 15 years.

'Kristin, some day very soon, we will meet face to face so please take long [sic] look in the mirror at what a desperate, insecure person you are,' Berry added.

Giacin has since been charged with aggravated harassment following the repeated advances on the woman.

Officials said he 'pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a violation — and two orders of protection were issued, barring him and Mindy from contacting Barbato,' according to the newspaper.

Mark Warren Moody, Barbato's attorney, filed a $3million libel lawsuit against the couple in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday. 

'It's like she had a scarlet letter on her forehead,' Warren Moody said of the horrific events.
