Video has captured a bird camouflaged into a wooden log near a school in Foz do Iguaçu, in the state of Paraná.

The bird is called a Common potoo- a nocturnal species that lives in the Southern Hemisphere. 

Close-up footage shows the bird at full 360 degree angle, completely disguised in its timber surroundings. 

A curious onlooker, believed to have taken the video, said: 'For the second year, this bird made its nest next to a school.

'The exotic bird draws the attention of people passing by. Now the villagers have adopted the bird and take care of it daily.'

The Common potoo, about 38cm long and a grey brown colour, uses camouflage to hide from its predators.

They typically rest on broken tree branches or wooden fence posts and do not build nests.
