Anne Hathaway buys $2.5m Connecticut home for Thanksgiving

Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman just plunked down $2.8million on a sprawling Connecticut home. 

The gorgeous mansion is on an one acre of property and looks like the perfect abode for the The Princess Diaries star complete with five bedrooms, and six bathrooms.

The couple has already moved in, and spent their Thanksgiving weekend in their seaside hideaway according to the New York Post. 

The 'cottage style' mansion has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, and sits along the Connecticut shoreline 

Plenty of natural light in this grand room, complete with custom shelves and a beautiful catwalk for the second level 

A cozy dining area made cozier with a fire place- yet the gorgeous chandelier punches the room up for guests enjoying a fine dining experience with their famous hostess 

Open concept living and kitchen area painted a bright white accentuating the natural light pouring through the windows 

The home is fully enclosed by large shrubbery giving the recognizable Hathaway and Shulman added privacy beyong the long driveway leading up to their home

A resident in the area says they spotted the newly local, loved up couple prepping for turkey day while gathering supplies at a local store 

While the home is new for Shulman and Hathaway, the cottage style mansion was actually built in the 1920s.

The large residence is 5,000 square feet, has an outdoor kitchen, and touts 'ornamental English gardens.'

The listing describes the property as 'European sophistication meets beach cottage chic at this private oasis steps from Compo Beach and Longshore Golf+Beach Club.'

But wait, there's more! A sitting room which appears to have doors through out, allowing for the seaside air to come in and stay awhile 

Another kitchen, likely situated inside the 'farm, cabana' structure on the property, and has one of several beautiful chandeliers 

A peek at their beautiful, secluded entertaining area in the back of the home, with a welcoming stone walkway made complete with fire pit 

Viking appliances are fitting for outdoor entertaining in this lovely brick patio with fire pit. The area is also partially enclosed by the home adding extra privacy for outdoor guests 

A play area sits just off of a porch giving Hathaway and Shulman the perfect vantage to keep an eye on their toddler Jonathan 

So much can be done with this enormous rooftop deck sitting off one of the many bedrooms and lovely outdoor sconces for evening entertaining

The deck is just off this large bedroom which is potentially the master quite in the home with loads of sunlight making the morning easier 

Classically modern touches through out the home, like this bright bathroom with black and white marble tiles and even a phone at the ready 

Some other mouth watering amenities include a heated pool, a 'party barn/ cabana' and a fireplace. 

Hathaway and Shulman married in 2012 and Anne gave birth to their son, Jonathan, in March of 2016. 

The couple also bought an apartment in the same price range last year in New York City's Upper West Side at $2.55million.
